Diesel locomotive series 221 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Epoch IV.

Model with integrated load sensing digital decoder and true to the original sound functions from factory. Motor with flywheel. Drive on 8 wheel. 2 traction tyres. Triple headlights on both ends of the locomotive that change with the direction of travel. Close coupling motion link and coupler pocket according to NEM 335 standards.

Prototype: The series V 200.1 (from 1968 on designated BR 221) is the further development of the V 200.0. The first locomotive was delivered to the DB in 1962. The last locomotives were scrapped at the Bw Oberhausen 1 until 1988 (summer timetable). The mixed-traffic locomotive had a power output of 2.700 hp which allowed her to haul the most different types of trains. The BR 221 became legendary when she hauled express trains on the "Vogelfluglinie" or the mountainous "Schwarzwaldbahn" lines.
