Description
The railroads and industries they serve, constantly pursued a quicker, more cost effiecient method to load box cars. More specifically to secure the loads inside. The waffle sided cars were introduced with internal bars/posts positioned inside each waffle for wrapping load restraining straps. Wrapped and secured pallets could be positioned (via fork lift) into the box cars and more easily secured to prevent damage.
