Novelty 2022:
With the newly designed model of the VT 2.09 rail bus of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, PIKO is responding to a frequently mentioned wish of many model railroaders for a modern, detailed and also operational version of the well-known "Piglet Taxi".
After the development of the innovative control logic of the DB rail bus, for which PIKO received the Golden Track 2017, it makes sense to now also implement the widespread counterpart from East Germany with a love of detail and a corresponding logic.
The railcar is driven by a powerful micromotor, which is equipped with flywheel masses to ensure perfect running characteristics, and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal driving characteristics without sound interruptions.
The drive acts on both axles of the railcar. The railcar and control car can be coupled to each other via a current-conducting short coupling kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately, allowing a clear view through the passenger compartments.
The traction vehicle automatically registers whether a sidecar is attached and then switches off the lights between the vehicles.
The PIKO "Ferkeltaxe" is already equipped with a suitable PluX22 sound decoder ex works.
