Dining car ARkimmz 288 1st class of the DB AG, epoch VI
Novelty 2023:
After 40 years of IC connections in Germany, the fleet of cars was mixed. With the ¡ÈIC mod.¡É project, DB AG wanted to put an end to this situation and had some sample conversions carried out from 2009 onwards. From 2012, series conversion began in the repair shops in Kassel, Neumünster and Nuremberg, with the cars receiving a new interior according to ICE standards, new doors, air conditioning and wiring.
In contrast to the original, PIKO relies on a completely new design for the modernized IC trolleys. The vehicles were precisely implemented on a scale of 1:87 and impress with the finest engravings and flush-mounted windows. The interior design is reproduced in great detail and is in no way inferior to the original. The swivels also impress with many details, such as individually attached spring assemblies, magnetic brakes or replica brake discs on the axles. It's also worth taking a look under the car. Machinery systems, battery compartments and all supply lines were recreated with great attention to detail.
The dining car is of course prepared for the easy retrofitting of interior lighting.
