Car set 3 with three express train cars for the Eurocity 24 "Erasmus" of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
Consisting of a 1st class compartment car, type Avmz 111.2, a 2nd class open seating car, type Bpmz 291.2 and a 2nd class compartment car, type Bm 235.

For the 1987 summer timetable, new quality standards were set for cross-border InterCity trains in terms of rolling stock, speed and service. Trains that met these criteria were given the designation "EuroCity".
The EC 24 "Erasmus" connected the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck via Munich and Frankfurt am Main, then along the Rhine via Emmerich to the Dutch capital Amsterdam.
The wagons in this set were taken from the end of the train or the head of the train when the locomotive was changed to the Dutch electric locomotive in Emmerich in accordance with traffic demand. Since they were only used in Austria and Germany, they did not have to be multi-voltage wagons.
