This 50' steel side, 14-panel, fixed end gondola with low cover is synthetic red with white lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1966 by Ortner, this ex. Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific gondola was purchased by NASA in late 1984, and featured a removable cover. Used primarily for right-of-way maintenance, this gondola was retired in 2011 at the end of the Space Shuttle Program.
