The completely newly developed H0 model of the 119/219 series was derived from the clear, robust and functionally reliable construction of the V 180 from PIKO, just like the prototype.
However, since this was done with constructive consistency and with a high level of manufacturing quality, no PIKO model railroader (like the DR engine drivers of the time) need fear for the reliability of their 119/219. On the contrary:
Thanks to the powerful motor with precisely balanced flywheel masses, the PIKO model of the 119/219 convinces with smooth running and considerable traction. The form and color design of the locomotive, called "U-Boot" because of its portholes, is not inferior to its fine mechanical precision.
